Magento is open source ecommerce application. Since launch on March 31, 2008. It has exceeded 500.000 download. Magento has many features to build web store out of the box.
Currently Magento still lack the documentation. I hope since the community is growing fast. The documentation will be better.
If we want to build web store with open source software. You can start to use Magento.

Hi,
Nice blog you have. I think people should think twice before they decide to go with Magento. Yes, it has nice looking front end and administration, but if someone is not experienced ZEND developer, you can kiss your PHP knowledge good bye.
Magento is all about ZEND and very hard to learn. Now, only after few months of development, we can say that we are figuring out the elementary stuff ;)

Yes, I notice that Magento build on ZEND framework. Then if we want to do custom programming with Magento, the consequences is we must know complicated ZEND framework.
